Master Thesis / Internship on Experimental Quantum Communication (d/f/m)

Duration: 6 months
We at Airbus Central Research & Technology pioneer cutting edge technologies for future airborne and spaceborne systems, providing novel functionalities whilst reducing the environmental footprint of Airbus products and services. You will join the team of our researchers working on quantum communication. With your contribution you will make an impact on and development of secure communication networks for Airbus.

Your tasks and responsibilities
Developing methods and solutions for quantum communication using free space links
Performing experiments using quantum communication testbenches
Writing programming scripts and code to interface instruments and analyse data
Conduct and perform hands-on laboratory and conceptual work equally
Desired skills and qualifications
Enrolled full-time master student and you are ready to start a master thesis in Physics, Quantum Technologies, Engineering or equivalent
You have a solid understanding of the principles of physical optics and quantum mechanics.
You are familiar with basic optical components and have experience with assembling and aligning of optical setups
Ideally you already have a basic understanding of quantum communication and corresponding protocols or a strong interest in learning more about this topic.
Ideally you are familiar with Linux and the basic command line tools, as well as with Python programming.
