Part of your life. Part of tomorrow.
Infineon is a world leader in semiconductor solutions that make life easier, safer, and greener. Our solutions for efficient energy management, smart mobility, and secure, seamless communications link the real and the digital world.
Infineon PSS semiconductors are enabling intelligent power management, smart sensitivity, and fast, reliable data processing in an increasingly digitalized world. Our state-of-the-art power and connectivity devices make chargers, servers, mainboards, power tools, and lighting systems smarter, smaller, lighter, and more energy-efficient. In addition, our trusted sensors give things an intuitive sensing capability to make them contextually aware, and our RF chips support fast and reliable data communications.
* The term gender in the sense of the General Equal Treatment Act (GETA) or other national legislation refers to the biological assignment to a gender group. At Infineon we are proud to embrace (gender) diversity, including female, male and diverse.
You like working in analytic solutions, modelling and simulation. Then join our team in Munich and get the chance to write your master thesis in the field of Application Engineering. System simulations using SMPS controller models help our application engineers and the customers for design-in and optimization of power supply units. The models can be used to simulate the power supply unit and to study the effect of different design parameters like input and output voltage ratings, power losses as well as on control behavior of the selected topology. The main task in this thesis is to model the basic functionality of a SMPS controller in different circuit simulators and compare the simulators in performance, ease-of-use and simulation time. If this sounds interesting to you, then we are looking forward to your application!
In your new role your tasks will include:
* Understanding the basic functionalities of one of our SMPS controller
* Building up your simulation model of the controller in different circuit simulators
* Integrating the controller model in the full system simulation
* Comparing the performance of the model running in different circuit simulators
* Verifying the simulation results in our power electronics lab
You are best equipped for this task if you:
* Are shortly before finishing your master studies in electrical engineering, physics or a similar field
* Already gained knowledge of power electronics, ideally in SMPS architectures and topologies (Flyback, resonant converters)
* Have worked with simulation tools (SPICE, Simetrix/ Simplis, Matlab/ Simulink, PLECS)
* You are enthusiastic and work in a structured and methodical manner
* Fluent English skills, German is a plus
Please attach the following documents to your application:
* CV in English
* Certificate of enrollment at university
* Latest grades transcript (not older than 6 months)
* High school report
