TASKS DURING THE INTERNSHIP, WHAT I COULD LEARN PROFESSIONALY AND PERSONALLY:
My main responsibilities during the internship were maintenance and reparation of 3D printers, taking care of both in-house and customer printjobs in different materials, modelling parts in CAD, determining the best printing strategy and following its post treatment, as well as parameter optimization, improving the print quality and research about PVDF - filament which had not been used with Apium‘s printers before.
As a student of Biomedical Engineering from Poland, I am very satisfied with the knowledge and experience I gained in Apium, as 3D printing has various applications in medicine and is the fastest growing industry in this domain. I am also very happy that I extended my knowledge in materials science, as well as mechanical engineering.
I am particularly pleased with the possibility of gaining all the technical knowledge about 3D printing and materials in the high-range professional environment, where I could experience its jointure with business and working environment, as it is very different from the things you aquire at university. When it comes to personal development - I really appreciate the possibility to learn how to find myself in new, professional ennvironment and face all the challenges.
ENVIRONMENT, COMPANY, MANAGERS, COLLEGUES:
Work environment is one of the things I enjoyed the most at Apium. Motivating and supportive supervisors are the perfect facilitators to face new challenges and accomplish company goals. I could always ask for help and advice when I needed it, and all the professional expectations towards me were clear since the beginning.
The atmosphere is always very cheerful, friendly and easy going, following many integration activities and spending time together as a team.
