EEDP's at Energy Connections experience technically challenging and innovative rotations in the areas of transmission, distribution, management, conversion or optimization of electrical power for customers across multiple energy-intensive industries. Rotations focus in the areas of design, analysis, quality, reliability, and integration & test. Technology areas include power conversion, power electronics, power systems, electrical distribution equipment (e.g. relays, breakers, meters, transformers), and controls platforms. The core engineering skills gained in assignments are enhanced through Advanced Courses in Engineering and Corporate leadership training. Experience and training combined with mentoring and guidance from assignment managers, prepares members with the technical skills and values needed to achieve a successful technology career at GE Energy Connections.
Due to the rotational nature of the Program, the Edison Engineering Development Program can be two to three assignments in related areas. The rotation assignments are intended to provide a broad exposure to the engineering field leading to successful off Program placement. Program membership also requires continuous education through advanced studies and in-house courses and workshops.

• Plan and perform assigned tasks within the framework of areas’ schedules, budget, quality and cost constraints while maintaining accuracy and thoroughness
• Demonstrate ability to understand and apply engineering fundamentals in the business environment
• Demonstrate analytical / problem solving through number orientation
• Collaborate with manager in setting realistic and challenging operation goals
• Contribute to their accomplishment
• Propose new analyses, techniques and methodologies with respect to specific area of responsibility where applicable


  • Master Degree in one of the following disciplines: Electrical Engineering with focus on Power Electronics, Drive Systems or Drive Control
  • Excellent grade point average
  • A strong commitment to a career in technology and a passion for engineering
  • Good communication skills and ability to articulate technical problems in clear and simple terms
  • A demonstrated strong technical aptitude towards problem solving
  • Strong team skills with demonstrated leadership skills
  • Knowledge of advanced mathematics
  • Unrestricted work authorization for Germany and Europe
  • Willingness to relocate and to move as business needs change
  • Fluent German and English language skills
